World Book Day 2014

Thursday 6th of March was World Book Day. At St Mark's we had a 'Horrible Histories' themed day where all the staff and children dressed up as different historical figures. We had lots of fun celebrating our love of books and reading, including the whole school taking part in a 'drop everything and read' challenge!

Throughout the day the children took part in many activities as well as raising money to buy new library books for the school library by having a book sale. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and lots of fun was had by all!

Have a look at some of our fantastic costumes...

We interviewed some children about their favourite books and to find out what they love about reading. Here's what they said..

Can you guess which traditional stories these children are describing?
