We asked the children to choose someone in their group who stood out for being a brilliant team mate. Well done to Kacper, Joel and Matilda!

Thursday

This morning the children completed the activity that they didn't get to do yesterday (the jungle gym and high ropes.) After some lunch, we all took a long, muddy (!) walk together by the river. We stopped off to build shelters in the woods and tested them to see which ones would pass the typhoon test! After walking back to Lledr Hall, the children had a campfire where they toasted marshmallows and had some hot chocolate.

For tea this evening we were treated to a delicious roast followed by chocolate mouse pudding.

The children are looking forward to a hard-earned rest tonight while they enjoy a film night in the lounge.

We have had such a fantastic week at Lledr Hall. It's flown by so quickly and we'll be sad to leave, but the children are also very excited to see you all tomorrow and tell you all about their adventures!

Wednesday

What a fun-packed day the children have had! The weather may have been drizzly today but it certainly hasn't stopped us.  After a good night's sleep, the children enjoyed a hearty breakfast before splitting into their activity groups. Two groups did some team building activities, crawled through tunnels, balanced on beams and swung on ropes in the jungle gym whilst another group braved the high ropes course and tested their nerves on the Indiana Jones rope bridge!

All three groups also took a trip out to visit a nearby mine. After hiking part way up a mountain, the children had the opportunity to venture inside the mountain to explore a real slate mine. The children navigated their way through the tunnels with their head torches and enjoyed having a hot chocolate and biscuit by candle light. We even saw some frogs that lived in the entrance to the mine too!

Tonight's tea was meat pie with vegetables followed by scrumptious sticky toffee pudding - yum! After having so much fun last night, the children are currently on their second round of orienteering this evening. We can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Tuesday

We made it!

After enjoying the beautiful scenery on the coach trip, we arrived safely at Lledr Hall just before lunch time. The children spent some time getting to explore the grounds and finding their way around the hall before having a spot of lunch. Afterwards, we were all kitted out with our walking boots and waterproofs and set off on a lovely afternoon walk. The views were stunning and there were lots of interesting rocks to look.

When we arrived back at the hall, the children were all very excited to find out which dorm rooms they were in! After unpacking, we were all ready for our tea - a tasty feast of meatballs, pasta and garlic bread with pancakes and ice cream for dessert.

The children have spent the evening orienteering in the grounds of Lledr Hall in the dark! After a well-earned supper they are now getting ready for bed. We're all looking forward to a good night's sleep and are excited for tomorrow's activities.
