This half term our RE theme is: 

This half term our topic is Miracles.

The children will think about how Jesus showed great love and compassion by healing the sick and by helping others. We will use the stories of Jesus calming the storm and healing the blind man, Bartimaeus. The children will think about how we can follow in Jesus’ footsteps by showing compassion and helping others.

Key Stage 1 Children:


Our children are involved in Phonics lessons following the Letters and Sounds scheme which is part of their reading and writing development. These sessions begin at 9.05 am.

Please ensure your child is on time so that sessions can begin.

At St Mark's our children follow a reading scheme that includes a variety of different types of reading books from various publishers to ensure they have access to a wide range of texts. These books are numbered using the Reading Recovery levels. Please help your child by reading at home as often as possible.
