Lledr Hall 2026
Thursday
The children were up early ready for another fun-packed day. After a tasty breakfast of pancakes, bacon and golden syrup, the children split off in to their groups and headed out for more adventures!
It was group 1's turn to take the canoes to Llyn Gierionydd for a day on the lake. They had a picnic by the shore and built campfires so that they could make s'moars.
Groups 2 and 3 went to Borth-y-Gest beach. They hunted for shells, did some rock climbing and had a picnic by the sea. After dinner, they headed back to Lledr Hall to tackle the high ropes course. After 2 days of glorious sunshine, the weather did turn rather wet in the afternoon but we didn't let it stop us having fun!
For tea tonight, the children enjoyed a delicious pepperoni pizza with potato wedges followed by waffles with fruit compote and ice cream.
After their tea, the children started packing and then spent some time making cards for the Lledr Hall staff to thank them for looking after us so well this week.
After such a busy week, the children are having a relaxing evening watching a film before bedtime.
The children have had a fantastic time this week and we are so proud of all the perseverance, teamwork, effort and enthusiasm they have shown, as well as how well they have represented St. Mark's. The children will be sad to say goodbye to Lledr Hall tomorrow, but they are super excited to come home and tell you all about the adventures they have had!
Wednesday
What a beautiful, sunny day we have had in Wales! The children had a hearty cooked breakfast of egg, sausage, hashbrowns and beans before splitting off into their activity groups.
Group 1 spent the morning on the high ropes course at Lledr Hall, testing their nerves on the 'Indiana Jones' bridge. They then headed to Borth-y-Gest beach for a picnic with a view! After dinner, the children did some rock climbing and had a hot chocolate by the sea.
Groups 2 and 3 spent the day canoeing at Llyn Gierionydd (a lake near Llanwrwst). They worked as a team to paddle across the lake, had a picnic by the shore and built fires to toast marshmallows and make s'moars!
For tea tonight, the children had homemade lasagna with garlic bread, followed by lemon posset.
After tea, the children spent the evening playing a selection of jumbo wooden games which were lots of fun! They then went down by the river to have a singsong by the campfire. As it was such a clear night, we were able to see all the stars and even some planets too.
After such a busy day, the children are ready for a good night's sleep and are excited to see what tomorrow will bring.
Tuesday
We had a smooth journey to Lledr Hall after our delay this morning! The children had their dinner as soon as they arrived, got kitted out with their waterproofs and hiking boots, and then set off for our first activity of the week. We all went for a beautiful hike around a lake above the village of Betws-y-coed called Llyn Elsi. The view was stunning! When we returned to the hall, the children were very excited to find out where they would be sleeping. Once they had settled in to their dorms, they enjoyed a hearty tea of fish pie and broccoli followed by sticky toffee pudding with ice cream - yum!
This evening, the children had a chance to put their map-reading skills to the test with some night-time orienteering in the grounds at Lledr. After lots of running around in the dark, the children were ready for their supper and then went straight to bed!
The children have had a fantastic first day and are excited to see what tomorrow brings.
