We believe that all people matter

Thursday

We have had an action-packed day here in Wales which began with another hearty breakfast! The weather was on our side so we took the opportunity to head to Borth Y Gest to spend some time exploring the beaches there. The children did some rock climbing and scrambling along the beach, dug holes and built sandcastles. They enjoyed the beautiful Welsh scenery as they ate their packed lunches and had some hot chocolate by the sea.

Back at Lledr Hall, the children also had the opportunity to put their balancing skills to the test on the high ropes and tested their nerves on the famous ‘Indiana Jones bridge’.

For tea tonight, the children enjoyed chicken curry followed by a sweet and fruity raspberry and lemon ice cream pudding - it was a big hit!

After their tea, the children spent some time making daffodils and cards for the Lledr Hall staff to say thank you to them for looking after us so well this week.

Afterwards, we all made our way down by the River Lledr for a singalong round the campfire with some toasted marshmallows. The children then played some giant wooden boardgames before bedtime.

The children will be sad to say goodbye to Lledr Hall tomorrow, but they are super excited to come home and tell you all about the adventures they have had!

Wednesday

Last night the children had a good night's sleep and were all up early this morning and raring to go! After a cooked breakfast, the children were ready to head out on an adventure. The weather here at Lledr today is very wet, but we didn't let that stop us having fun!

The children split into groups and headed off to spend the day exploring an old slate mine. After hiking up the hillside, they made their way into the mine and used head torches to navigate their way through the tunnels and chambers. They also got to experience what it was like in pitch darkness and ate their packed lunches inside the mine, just like the miners did! Once they had hiked back down from the mines, everyone headed back to Lledr hall for a nice hot shower!

For tea tonight, the children had a choice of cheese and onion pie or haddock with chips and peas  followed by some delicious sticky toffee pudding with cream.

The children are now winding down to a film before bedtime and are excited to see what fun tomorrow will bring!

Tuesday

We arrived safely at Lledr Hall after a scenic journey through Wales which included a beautiful rainbow over the hills. The children spent some time getting to know their new home for the next few days before stopping for dinner. After refuelling, the children got to test their balancing, climbing, crawling, teamwork and problem solving skills on the Jungle Gym.

The children were very excited to find out where they would be sleeping! Once they had settled in to their dorms, they were treated to a tasty tea; garlic bread with a choice of meatballs with pasta or pizza with potato wedges followed by Eve's pudding and hot custard - yum!

This evening, the children had a chance to put their map-reading skills to the test with some night-time orienteering in the grounds at Lledr. After lots of running around in the dark, the children were ready for their supper and then went straight to bed!

The children have had a fantastic first day and are excited to see what tomorrow brings!
