Welcome to Year 5
Years 1 - 6 dismissal time is 3:30pm.
What You Will Need in Year 5
Reading Books: Your child will need to bring their reading book and reading record to school every day. You are encouraged to read with your child every day and to sign their reading record.
Children are set weekly online maths and English homework. They are also expected to visit the Times Tables Rock Stars website three times a week in order to practise their times tables. Children arriving in year 5 are expected to know all of their times tables from 2 - 12. It is important that children continue to practise their times tables on a daily basis in order to maintain this knowledge.

Spellings: New spellings are given every Monday to take home and practise throughout the week. Children will then be tested on these spellings on Friday.
PE: For Spring 2 half term, your child will be attending swimming lessons on a Friday. Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their PE kit on this day and brings their swimming kit and towel with them in a bag.
Library Day: The children have the opportunity to borrow a book from the school library. Year 5's library day is Thursday. Please note there is a £7 fee for lost library books.
Water Bottles: Children are encouraged to bring a water bottle to school each day. It may only contain water - no fruit juice or cordial please.
